Volunteer Oppurtunities
While volunteering at the Easter Seals Camp, I had the oppurtunity to work with children with varying disabilities. I feel blessed to have the oppurtunity to work with these special and unique children. At the camp, we would play games, work on arts and crafts, sing songs, and work on social interaction skills. What I enjoyed most and will always remember are the sincere relationships that I bulit with the children.
Volunteering with the Berks County Chapter of Enduring Freemdom was an amazing experience. I had the oppurtunity to create and send care packages to service people all over the world. These individuals sacrifice so much to ensure our freedom and it was a rewarding experience to be able to provide them care packages. It was a great feeling to know that I was able to support the troops and let them know that I am greatful for everything they do.
While I was playing college football at Albright College, one of our teams many projects was to provide an annual free youth camp. In 2009, I was fortunate to be on the organizing team for the youth football camp. Our organization team developed important stategies to recruit campers. Some of the strategies included developing flyers to promote the camp, organized the activities for the camp, and we found sponsers to provide t-shirts and lunch to the children who participated in the event. I am proud to say that our organization team developed a template for success for future camp organization teams.
The Albright College Annual Free Youth Football Camp gave me the oppurtunity to help youth develop football related skills. Being able to pass along my knowledge and passion of football is something I will always remember. To see the children running around and honestly enjoying themselves made me proud to be involved in the event.
I have always had a passion for reading and having the oppurtunity to interact and pass along my passion was a rewarding experience. Knowing that the children enjoyed the stories and my company was a special feeling. The most rewarding part of the experience was that I was a positive influence on the childrens lives.
- Oley Valley Youth Football Program, Oley, PA, 2006-2007
Working with the Oley Valley Youth Footabll program was a unique expereince. During my time with the program most of the children were parctipating in organized football for the first time. Teaching basic football concepts and strategies was exciting and a good experience. The children worked very hard and it was a very enjoyable experience.
